ATHENVAN DESIGN

Jewelry Designer

Athena Akhavan is a Tehran based Persian designer who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design from Azad University of Art and Architecture in 2007.
From a young age, she began the study of shapes and materials under the guidance of well-regarded professors. Over the years, she experimented with techniques using and combining a variety of materials such as glass, metal, wood, and so on. Once graduating, despite her focus in architecture she decided to create her line of accessories. Her creation illustrates a pure reflection of her learnings and background.
In 2006, she held her first solo exhibition of jewelry designs made of recycled leather and metals in Tehran. Later on, in 2011, at the 4th Fajr International Fine Arts Festival she won first place for Iranian Sculpture. As a result, to her recognition, she participated in many international festivals such as Laguna Festival in Venice, where she received a scholarship from the Abate Zanetti School in Murano, Italy.
